the other day i received an order from snapfish. i am always excited to receive my pictures in the mail. i love to look through them and sort them into piles for each child’s scrapbook.
i have the process down.
i clear a space on the table or couch or floor- and sit down to sort. i make a pile from left to right in birth order: elli, then emma, nolan, etc. and i begin to go through the pictures one by one (this particular order had about 500 pictures from april through july).
most of the pictures are unique to each child, but a few pictures that contain the entire family or are representative of an event that involved everyone belong in everyone’s scrapbook- so i get get multiple copies of the same picture and put one picture in each pile.
the very first picture i came across in this particular batch of pictures was of a grinning me and a positive pregnancy test taken on the day i found out i was finally pregnant. definitely something that should be included in each child’s scrapbook so of course there were multiple copies of this picture.
i started to lay this picture in each child’s pile and what do you know? i have an extra picture in my hand. i quickly do a recount and wonder to myself why i would have ordered a 6th picture.
and then it hits me:
i have 6 children now. 6 piles of pictures. 6 annual scrapbooks. C.R.A.Z.Y.
but it definitely brought a smile to my face. i can do 6.
I'm so happy for you. :) What was it Elder Holland said when he came to speak to us? I think it was "Love shared is love multiplied." He couldn't have said those words at a better time for me and he couldn't have been more right. I was pregnant with Carmen at the time. This has been the most joyful time for us yet.
ReplyDeleteSix is a great number! Well, except for the six scrapbooks. That sounds hard. But other than that, two thumbs way up! I love Sarah's quote. Thanks for sharing. Love doesn't ever get used up no matter how many little ones there are running around.
ReplyDeletesometimes i impress myself with being on top of things like that way before my mind is even really "there". so excited for you guys. yes, six scrapbooks does sound overwhelming if it's not amazing you who is far more productive than i can ever hope to be.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can do 6 then it's you! You amaze me! (high five)
ReplyDeleteI think it is because she has such awesome kids that she can do it all...Mine would drive me cazy if I tried to scrap book. I have to physically remove myself or them to have girl time, to myself or with others to scrap book. Cuddles to you!~
