thank you

today when i got home from running too many camping errands (qfc + safeway + kohl’s + target + fred meyer = too many), i noticed a fresh bunch of flowers laying on my counter.

somebody had gone to the local saturday market.

i asked emma who the flowers were for.  she didn’t know.

i unloaded all my groceries and noticed the flowers were still there an hour or so later.

i asked elli.  she didn’t know who they were for/from either.

i got distracted again.

then nolan and i were in the kitchen at the same time.  i asked him the same question.

his reply:  “oh yeah.  those are for you, mom!”

me:  “who are they from?”

Nolan:  “I don’ t know.  someone brought them over for you.”

me:  “who was it?”

Nolan [shrugging his shoulders]:  “i don’t know.  she had short blond hair.”

me:  “but you don’t know who it was?”

Nolan:  “no.  i guess it was one of your friends.”

me:  “did she say why she brought them?”

Nolan:  “No.”

before i could get any more frustrated with nolan, i noticed this short little note on the paper the flowers were wrapped in:

and it made my day.  someone was thinking of me- just because.

thanks, erin.

reverse visiting teaching is the best.

  1. nice...i always love flowers. dave rarely buys them. my mom use to buy herself flowers every couple wks. we loved having them out on the table. my great grandfather grew roses for great grandma and he would pick them 4 her. guess he got tired of spending money. those ones are sooo beautiful!

  3. Umm I would like to let you all know that my hand writing DOES NOT always look like that. but that is what it looks like when I write on paper in the car. :)

You're welcome Amy. And I like to think of you as my friend rather than my visiting teacher... so this works. :)
