my mind is scatterbrained, overwhelmed, tired, and disorganized right now. here is the big purge, my trains-of-thought gone askew:
- has sarah had her babies yet?
- glendale 7th ward was pretty awesome
- my kids are still funny; i just haven’t been documenting as well
- i think i may have just taken up biting my nails again
- it’s been 4 weeks
- i can’t bring myself to delete one single picture from the month of october.
- is mrs. timberlake really mad at me?
- my face is actually peeling in some areas because of all the tears that have dried it out
- this is what i look like pretty much everyday right now:
- i could have justified keeping every single one of my kids home from school today because they’re sick. but because none of them had actual fevers and i was tired of having them around (yesterday was a no-school-holiday), i sent them away. bad parent? probably.
- i’m really proud of myself for cleaning off my island in my kitchen this morning
- it’s really dumb when you know that certain things need to be done, but you just don’t feel like mustering up enough energy to do it. so you just sit there and let it bother you.
- i wish life wasn’t so hard
- has sarah had her babies yet?
- today is my brother’s birthday. i have 4 brothers and he’s the only one that reads my blog. he knows it’s important to me to stay connected- in whatever ways we can. i hated him growing up because he was so mean to me, but i like him now. he’s much nicer. happy birthday, matt
- i think i may have a stomach bug. either that or really bad gas. either way, my stomach is crampy and it’s another excuse for me to stay in bed longer than i should.
- it is going to cost our family $1500- one thousand five-hundred dollars- just to buy tickets to disneyland. this does not include airfare, hotel, car, food, etc. it’s only for the theme park tickets. complete insanity. we’re still going.
- i have a really hard time focusing right now
- i wish andy liked me and knew my heart. i wish a lot of things about andy.
- i think we’re really going to hire a maid- very soon.
- i have no idea what we’re doing for our christmas card this year. it’s kind of stressing me out.
- does anyone else know david baker?
- 2 of my kids made christmas lists while i was gone last weekend. they’re pretty hilarious.
- i started reading the shack
- i hate the music on hotwheels.com
- has sarah had her babies yet?
- i haven’t heard from my mom in a very long time. is she mad at me?
- i never called staci back.
- nobody should be mad at me right now. cut me some slack.
- it’s still hard for me to fall asleep at night.
- ray has so much wax in his ears, he actually failed his hearing test at the doctor last week. no wonder that kid doesn’t listen: he can’t hear me.
- ray might have sleep apnea, too.
- i hate not being able to lift more than 10 pounds, but sometimes it’s pretty convenient that i need to ask someone else to do something for me. but mostly it’s annoying.
- i think i wear the same thing every other day. that’s annoying, too.
- i just realized my cell phone has been on silent since the girl scout meeting on tuesday afternoon. nice. actually, it has been kind of nice. i got a phone call within about 3 minutes of turning it back on.
- i don’t like leaving my house right now.
- ray and nolan have several shirts that are matching. the other day when ray got dressed, he put on nolan’s {much bigger} shirt because it was mistakenly put in his cubby. he came out of the laundry room looking like this:
and said, “mom, i think this shirt is growing too big for me. it’s time to give it to nolan.” so funny that he thinks it’s the clothes that actually grow or shrink instead of our bodies. - i am so tired of crying all the time
- somebody was supposed to bring us dinner last night- and they forgot. how embarrassing for them when they remember.
- what if abby was serious about sarah’s baby’s names?
- why doesn’t sarah have a FB account?
- i’m really bugged that my name is spelled wrong on calvin’s death certificate and i have to get it amended. the same thing happened with elli’s birth certificate.
- it’s not about “expanding my social circle”
- i used to like going to costco. now, not so much.
- i need uncrustables, 5 dozen eggs, tillamook sliced cheddar, eggos, frozen sausage patties (next to eggos); anyone going soon?
- i charged elli $3 for leaving the juice out on the counter overnight (=wasted) twice this week; she doesn’t know it yet
- i used to think kids got more responsible when they grew up, now i’m thinking they get less responsible the older they get.
- elli thinks i have a typo on my FB and blog profile because it says i have SIX kids. “mom, you don’t have SIX kids!”, she tells me. is that funny or disturbing? i’m not quite sure.
- i have done absolutely nothing productive this week. except clean my island off this morning.
- it’s halfway through november and i still haven’t paid for ray’s pre-school enrichment program for the month.
- i haven’t heard from sarah yet.
- do people that have just discovered my blog (because of calvin) know how funny i [usually] am?
- i am not the victim of counterfeit software, no matter what my computer keeps telling me.
- damon makes mistakes, too
- i liked these pictures of brooke that were on my camera:
she’s messy. and doesn’t she have the cutest nose?
- when is sarah going to have those babies? i can’t wait around all day, you know.
- today is the day when 4 of my children need to be picked up from 3 different locations at the same time.
- i love when i ask nolan to do something and his response is almost always: “yeah, sure.” no matter what i ask him to do. he’s so obedient. one or more of his older (and younger) siblings could learn great lessons from this kid.
- just because i don’t want to be told how thin i am, doesn’t mean i want to be told that i still look pregnant. {Savannah after i got back home this weekend: “mom, you’re tummy is growing bigger!!” and nolan, 2 weeks ago, “does it make you a little happy that you still look pregnant- even though you’re not really pregnant?” um, no. thanks for trying}
- this post is getting really long. good stuff, though- huh?
- will thursdays and the number 15 forever be hard?
- should i make a silhouette of myself using this picture ?
- sarah? emily? amye? abby? anyone?
it pretty much sums up my year.
Sarah had her babies! I wanted her to be the one to tell you, but since she hasn't called anyone yet and is taking her time, that's the news. I just talked to her and you were the first person on her list to call. Hope I didn't tick anyone off by divulging.
ReplyDeleteLester and Norbert are not actually on Mark and Sarah's short list, but they very well could be. She's still deciding, and the names they're thinking about are old-fashioned, cool, and a little unconventional.
How rad is your hair in thatlast pic. So rad.
Also, Brooke is so pretty, and happy birthday to Matt.
ReplyDeleteamy, i am your new bff. just so we're clear.
ReplyDeleteemily, tiffany is perhaps the most intelligent, beautiful girl i know. i have yet to meet a lundeen who isn't. seriously, i want to be one when i grow up. so your secret is safe with me, and (as we know) steve has excellent taste.
apparently so does dave baker. okay, enough db.
matt, should i drive around the block and down the street and around the block to bring you birthday greetings, or just declare my wishes on amy's blog? hmmmm.
*because 7th ward WAS the BEST.
ReplyDelete*even though I can see the pain in your eyes [which makes me cry] you look beautiful.
*the clean island deserves more credit.
*wish I lived closer - I'd bring you a meal [that YOU'D probably never forget.;) ]
*family trip [ok tickets only] for 1.5k - sign me up - sooooo worth every penny. . . but if it's over 8.5k total - we need to talk about just sending you guys to NZ. ;)
*your personality/humor ---- the best.
*your honesty - even better
*christmas card - at least YOU send them.
*loved the wax comment - as soon as Mike walks in from work...he's getting a thorough ear exam.
:)
emily- lucky for you, i read sarah's e-mail before i got to yours. you're off the hook. if anyone can pull those names off, it's sarah. isn't mrs. timberlake great?
ReplyDeletemrs. t- i'm so glad we're over our little tiff. i can't believe how many people you know. definitely drive by matt's house and make a big deal about his birthday. he totally loves stuff like that.
I found your blog because of Calvin, and because of Natalie too! But I can tell you're funny. And I also went back through your other posts and you are.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that someone forgot to bring us dinner after my son died, the funny thing was that it was my visiting teacher that forgot.
A few days after I had Kooper I was in Halmark finding a few sentiments to burry with him and the lady checking me about said, "Oh is this for your upcoming baby?" I know her intentions weren't bad, because I clearly looked pregnant, but I just wanted to cry!
Forgot to mention - on the clothes thing ...... that's what I do most days for my work [shop, etc]. LMK, if there is anything you are searching for - I'm always good for a bargain find [damon=computers / Emily=clothes]. ;)
ReplyDeletebtw: the costco challenged has been accepted. thanks for playing.
ReplyDeleteand, yes, brooke is beautiful.
challenge- that's what i meant to write.
ReplyDeleteemz- i hope my elli doesn't read my comments; she has lots of clothing she's "looking for" and "needs". me? i just need some more [tall] lounge pants.
kami- i checked out your blog this past weekend when you first commented. i loved your scrapbook pages of kooper and it gives me great hope that you got pregnant gave bith to kamryn in a relatively soon amount of time. so much hope. thank you.
My hair looks like that every day.
ReplyDeleteI've never sent out Christmas cards/newsletters (except to my sister as a joke in an attempt to create the worst newsletter of all time after our mom sent us all a joke newsletter that provided TMI for all of our lives).
I'm pretty sure I'm not having babies.
Sounds like you ate something nasty someone left on your doorstep.
Can't understand how anyone could be mad at you right now.
i love this post. you are stunning in your picture. i wish i looked that pretty when i felt yucky. or when i felt really good. 7th ward is amazing. piper's stopped biting her nails for 2 months now. she "just asked Jesus for help, and he did it!"
ReplyDeletei have other things to say but they might sound offensive so i will email them to you...
i just went to costco. wish i could have bought your groceries...i would have, you know?
natalie-
ReplyDeleteyes, please e-mail. i would much rather be offended in my e-mail account than in my comments. (just kidding). but you really better e-mail me now- or i will be offended. :)
what is your email address?
ReplyDeleteit won't offend you. just everyone else...

ReplyDeleteNow I know why you responded to my text 2 days after I text you. :)
ReplyDeletealso, i loved this post. it reminds me of the crazy mess my mind is on my days. too many things to think about. but, congrats to sarah and her family. very exciting. hope all is well. and, what are you talking about? andy totally thinks all your comments are hilarious. he doesn't tell me that in so many words, but i just know it. and ... i concur with your choice of pictures of me. they are much less frightening than the ones you chose for me on my birthday post. but my favorite part is that i laughed for five minutes solid after seeing that last picture. really hard. and that's when i remembered how much i love you. you make me smile. thanks for the laugh. and now, if you'll excuse me, i am engaged in a heated conversation about who is responsible for you thinking that andy doesn't like you.
ReplyDeletebrooke- let me settle the argument for you: Andy, YOU are responsible for making me think you don't like me. there, does that help?
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with Sarah! Brooke is beautiful inside and out! I love the Andy comment! Happy Birthday to Matt! Yes, add that last pic as a keeper to the sidebar:)
ReplyDeleteJust when I think I have this blog thing figured out!!! I write on the wrong blog. Hopefully Matt reads hers too???? I understand the lack of middle name syndrom, our girls have the same gap on their birth certificates except for #2 daughter who added her middle name when she was in high school. Mostly because her birth certificate had her listed as "baby girl".
ReplyDeleteWow... I can't believe you're taking on The Shack right now. Absolutely astounding book. Excellent. You'll love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd be prepared to cry a lot. And be even more depressed for awhile. And have anger welling up inside you.
And the resolution is beautiful. And you'll love it.
Sounds vaguely familiar, huh?
mrs. timberlake... you're off the schneid, I got your birthday wishes. No need to go through all that trouble. I'll scratch your name off next week's speaker list.

ReplyDeleteum, not even close, crystal.
ReplyDeleteso much to say about this post!
ReplyDeletesorry to keep you waiting about the babes. as you know, they were born on thursday, apparantly Matt's birthday too. i will eventually make an official blog post to announce.
i'm a slacker blogger/emailer. thanks to emily for getting the word out, but i'm glad you read my email first.
7th ward was so great! but i've been told we were a little too full of ourselves. could that be?
