ray: mom, are you tired?
me: yeah.
ray: do you want to take a nap?
me: yeah.
ray: hold on.
he runs into his room and comes back with the hourglass sand timer from the pictureka game.
ray: ok. how about you take a nap until the timer runs out and then you can play this game with me?
me: but that’s not very much time.
ray (excited): it’s ok because you can turn over the timer if you’re still tired when it’s all empty.
me: um, thanks. i think those 45-second nap intervals will really make a difference.
the 45 second ones are the best - especially on Thursday's! ;)
ReplyDeleteNothing like a power nap to get energized...and ready for the next nap! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet.
ReplyDeleteGives you a whole new perspective on how time works for kids. No wonder they ask things like, "Can we go now?" only moments after your first answer. It all makes sense when you compare it to the 45 second nap. Why can't the Grown-up Time Zone and Kid Time Zone be a little closer together?
ReplyDeleteThat's how my naps go too. Even without the little hourglass. Lizzie thinks coming back later means one minute later usually.
