her first soccer game
her first season of playing soccer…ever
Emma’s favorite things about her new sport:
- running around trying to get the ball
- kicking the ball
- eating oranges at halftime
- making a huge bridge/tunnel with teammates at the end of each game for the other team to run through
- having friends on her team
- being proud of how much exercise she’s getting
- getting to bring 2 water bottles to each practice/game: one for drinking and one for dumping on her hot, sweaty head afterwards
- having a great coach
- learning a new sport
- finally getting to play after begging me for the past 5 years to play with her best friend, mackenzie- who broke her ankle right before the season started and ended up not being able to play with emma anyway
- getting to celebrate with dad afterwards at mongolian grill (bubble tea and teriyaki)
i missed today’s game because i got to be at the dentist with everyone else, but next week i’ll be there to cheer on her team, Orange Crush.
and i was told she did awesome. way to go, emma!
