ray is becoming quite handy with my camera. thank goodness for digital photography because this kid can blow through a hundred pictures in a matter of moments.
he’s usually pretty proud of his work and has a witty sense of humor with his goofy subjects.
this particular picture, however, caused him much grief and disappointment :
a picture of my belly, or “thumper,” if you will.
me: take a picture of thumper, ray
ray [eyes really big]: can i?
me: sure.
ray [getting really close to my belly with the camera, but hesitating to push the button to capture it]: mom, i can’t see him. how does the doctor do it?
sweet child. he has no concept of what an ultrasound picture is. it’s hardly fathomable to me; how could a 4-year-old comprehend it?
