this morning in bed, ray asked the much-asked question:
“mom, when will our baby be ready to come out?”
to which i replied, “in a very long time. my belly has to get really big before the baby is big enough and healthy enough to be born. Right now she’s too little. She needs to stay inside my tummy because it’s safe there.”
Is she going to be all wet when she comes out?
yep.
why is she going to be wet?
because she’s swimming around in water in my tummy.
[eyes real big] She knows how to swim?!
only in my tummy. she can’t swim in a real pool. she just does flips all day in my tummy.
she can land flips already, too?!
does she go poop in your tummy?
i think so.
Does she have a toilet in there?!
and on and on… this baby is pretty darn amazing. ray is already looking up to his baby brother or sister. he’s got a lot to learn before he/she gets here (like how to swim and land flips on the trampoline).
it's nothing short of amazing how little kids' thought processes work - the things they think about, worry about, get excited about. and also pretty funny. you've got a long way to go if he's already asking when it will be out. i got so tired of that question when i was pregnant with asher. we're all excited to meet this amazingly talented baby.
ReplyDeleteits jillian and i will help Ray learn to land that flip. he already has once by mistake so yah he should be able to learn it in no time! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen we told my daughter that her teacher had a baby in her tummy, she asked if her teacher had eaten it.
