today i got to go on a field trip with ray’s pre-school class. i’m not sure if i could have chosen a worse place to go for where i’m at in this pregnancy.
we got to tour a farm with animals [and animal smells]. i was so looking forward to it.
ray’s favorite part was getting to run across 3 different bridges before we got to the barn.
His next favorite parts were petting the soft bunny, petting the pony, and touching the cute little baby chick.
my favorite part was leaving the barn.
my next favorite part was learning all of the 500 lb. pig’s favorite foods to eat: tortillas, cake, apples, bread, cookies, muffins. but he won’t go near carrots. funny.
and my very next favorite part was realizing how badly my son needs a haircut- or at least needed his hair combed before he went to school.
my favorite answer of the day? a unanimous, “my mom!” when asked by farmer jane, “who weighs more: this [500 pound] pig or your mom?” nice job, farmer jane.
and my favorite question of the day: “mom, when is it going to be christmas?” because i knew i was in for a long pregnancy now that i’ve associated the baby with christmas-time. what was i thinking?
but my favorite part of my day was coming home to an early christmas present- courtesy of my sweet visiting teachers- of lemon-ginger tea, trader joe’s [high-fructose corn syrup- free?] hard candies to fight the nausea (love them, rachel!), and motion-sickness sea-band wrist-bands. totally made me crack-up. {rachel- i was just reading about the electronic band thing a few days ago. bring it over; i totally want to try it.}
i knew there was a good reason why i outted myself so early. it’s paying off already.
I was so grateful this last time around not to have any diapers to change while pregnant. It made things so much easier. Also, this purely citrus spray I bought was awesome (lemon) when there were any offensive odors in the house (like the neighbor's cooking).

Glad you liked it...we're headed to Target today for a walk (me) and a potty prize (Kate), so I'll find the right batteries. Next time at the docs, bring something to "borrow" some of the ultrasound jell. It's the same stuff you need to make the electric band connect to your hand. Or you can pay $10 for a tiny tube at Sharper Image.

whatever ... i don't see my comment on here even though i already made one. here's a recap. you're a brave one to go on this field trip. i couldn't handle the zoo smells during this phase of morning sickness. gross. on the up-side, you got to spend time with ONE of your children without the others. yay.
